Four County EMC is accepting Bright Ideas applications for the 2017-2018 school year. Teachers may apply for grants up to $2,000. Funding will go to creative K-12 teachers for innovative and imaginative classroom projects. To learn more about the program and start an online application visit www.ncbrightideas.com or www.fourcty.org.

Since 1994, Four County EMC and North Carolina’s electric cooperatives have worked to enhance education by engaging students in meaningful learning projects that encourage creative approaches. In the past two decades, North Carolina’s electric cooperatives have contributed more than $10.9 million to teachers for 10,400 projects benefiting more than 2.1 million students. Last year alone, Four County EMC awarded $19,860 for 22 projects supporting local teachers and students.

Grant applications will be accepted April 1 through September 18. It could pay to apply early: all teachers who submit their applications by the early bird deadline of August 15 will be entered into a drawing for one of five $100 gift cards.

Teachers at qualifying schools can apply individually or as a team, and grants are available for all subjects. To apply, or for more information about the Bright Ideas grant program, visit www.fourcty.org or www.NCBrightIdeas.com for statewide information.
